Overview

An established insurance organization is seeking multiple experienced Trial Attorneys to join their Staff Legal team in Texas. These positions may be based in the Addison, Texas office or remotely from the Austin, San Antonio, or Houston areas.

Responsibilities

  • Represent commercial insured clients in moderate to high-exposure General Liability cases from investigation through trial.
  • Manage all phases of insurance defense litigation, including legal analysis, pleadings, discovery, hearings, trials, settlement strategy, and post-trial activities.
  • Work independently while also mentoring others and supporting the broader legal team.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree.
  • Minimum of 7 years of litigation experience.
  • Active membership in the Texas State Bar in good standing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, Lexis, or Westlaw.
  • Knowledge of insurance defense litigation, claims, and the insurance industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in insurance defense or general commercial litigation, including wrongful death, commercial motor vehicle torts, products liability, premises liability, and personal injury cases.
  • Relevant first-chair jury trial experience.
  • Strong skills in legal analysis, negotiation, communication, organization, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to independently manage caseloads, budgets, exposure analysis, billables, and diary review.
  • Collaborative team mindset with leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $150,000 to $180,000 annually, with eligibility for a short-term incentive bonus of 15%.
  • Compensation is based on role, location, skills, and experience, following local laws to ensure fairness.
