Overview

This role supports the organization’s Chief Legal Officer, Deputy General Counsel, or Assistant General Counsel, Contracts. The Sr. Staff Attorney drafts legal documents and templates, manages corporate legal records and document templates, conducts legal research, and prepares correspondence with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Imparts the organization’s philosophy, values, mission, and vision and facilitates integration of values into Continuous Quality Improvement ("CQI") activities.
  • Understands, embraces, and practices the principles of CQI.
  • Drafts, reviews, and negotiates contracts on behalf of the organization.
  • Oversees the complete life cycle of contracts from initial request to final signature.
  • Responds to internal and external requests regarding contract status and manages follow-up with staff as needed.
  • Prepares additional legal documents, such as memorandums and correspondence.
  • Provides legal guidance on issues that inform new initiatives.
  • Provides legal counsel to staff members regarding implications of business objectives and ensures staff awareness of applicable policies and practices.
  • Researches and analyzes statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, contracts, and legal codes.
  • Files legal documents and correspondence in digital and physical filing systems.
  • Develops processes for effective indexing and filing of legal documents and managing contracts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of a law degree through an accredited program required.
  • 5 years of experience working in legal required.
  • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives.
  • Ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees.

Preferred Qualifications

  • License to practice law in Wisconsin.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay range: USD $142,128.00 - USD $177,660.00 /Yr.
  • STAR Bonus % (At Risk Maximum): 5.00
