Staff Attorney - Legal Research & Motions

Overview

A full-time attorney position is available for a candidate with over 5 years of litigation experience. The role focuses on handling complex civil cases primarily in California, with most work performed remotely but requiring court appearances.

Responsibilities

• Draft motions and conduct legal research
• Manage moderately complex litigation cases with exposure up to approximately $500,000
• Develop and implement legal strategies
• Oversee all phases of litigation
• Support trial preparation and lead settlement negotiations
• Participate in hearings and mediations
• Provide legal advice to clients and assess risks
• Build and maintain client relationships
• Mentor junior staff
• Improve processes through automation

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree
• Active California bar license
• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience
• Strong legal research and communication skills
• Proficiency with e-discovery and case management tools
• Knowledge of insurance law
