Overview

This role involves supporting litigation efforts as a Subrogation Paralegal, managing case files, drafting legal documents, and collaborating with attorneys to prepare for trials, mediations, and settlement conferences. The position supports subrogation claims from inception through resolution to ensure efficient recovery.

This is a fully remote position supporting the legal office/jurisdiction based in Dallas, Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a high volume of pending subrogation files, prioritizing tasks and tracking deadlines to ensure timely case progression.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to discuss case details, develop legal strategies, and plan subrogation claim pursuits.
  • Gather and organize documents, evidence, and conduct legal research for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
  • Open new case files, review initial documentation, and prepare demand letters for payment.
  • Provide regular updates to attorneys on case status, including demand letters, discovery responses, and filings.
  • Draft pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and other legal documents for attorney review and submission.
  • Handle legal filings ensuring compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings to observe and assist; may represent the organization in routine matters under supervision.
  • Participate in training and mentorship programs to develop legal skills and gain exposure to complex legal work.

Requirements

  • Must meet the minimum qualifications for paralegals as defined by applicable state law.
  • 0-2 years of experience preferred.
  • Experience as a paralegal with a focus on subrogation, insurance defense, or civil litigation preferred.
  • Experience managing high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Familiarity with legal procedures including pleadings, discovery, motions, and court filings.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not have supervisory duties.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly compensation ranges from $28.03 to $42.99, based on experience and qualifications.
