Overview

A Supervisory Senior Staff Attorney position is available to oversee outside counsel managing complex litigation cases. This role reports to a senior manager in litigation and involves handling litigation involving the corporation and/or its insured within established corporate guidelines and applicable professional responsibility codes.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise outside counsel throughout litigation of complex claims
  • Analyze litigation files as cases progress, evaluate cases, and seek settlements as necessary
  • Review motions and briefs during litigation and provide feedback
  • Conduct legal research as needed
  • Observe court hearings and trials as necessary
  • Stay current on state statutes and court decisions and analyze their impact on policy provisions
  • Manage litigation with higher complexity across multiple lines of business

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree
  • Admission to the state bar in the state of practice
  • Demonstrated litigation experience, including preparing civil pleadings, motions, discovery, and deposing witnesses
  • Solid knowledge of tort, contract, and insurance law
  • Solid understanding of rules of Professional Responsibility for the practicing jurisdiction
  • Coverage experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $113,000.00 - $194,000.00 (may vary based on job level and geographic location)
