Overview
An experienced Trade Secrets Litigation Attorney with 5-15 years of experience is sought to support a leading regional East Coast law firm on a contract basis. This fully remote role requires significant expertise in handling complex trade secrets litigation. A background in computer science is preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in complex trade secrets, restrictive covenant, unfair competition, and related commercial litigation matters
- Manage substantive case aspects including written discovery, document review, depositions, expert discovery, and motion practice
- Draft dispositive motions, discovery motions, briefs, and other substantive legal filings
- Prepare witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial
- Develop litigation strategy and collaborate closely with partners and litigation teams
Requirements
- 5-15 years of experience litigating trade secrets, restrictive covenant, and/or complex commercial litigation matters
- Demonstrated experience with substantive discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage sophisticated litigation matters with minimal supervision
- Licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Comfortable working remotely as part of a high-performing litigation team

- Background in computer science (preferred but not required)
Position Details
- Type: Contract Engagement
- Duration: Approximately six months, with potential extension based on client needs and case activity
- Schedule: Approximately 15–20 hours per week initially; hours may fluctuate depending on litigation demands, including potential increases during significant motion practice, discovery, or trial preparation
- Location: Fully Remote
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: Annualized pay ranges from $260,000 to $312,000 on a full-time basis. Contract pay is influenced by experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and candidate preference.
- Benefits: Eligible for full benefits when working 20+ hours per week, including a Qualified 401(k) plan. Benefits include Group Life, Long-Term Disability (LTD), Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), professional liability insurance, and stipends for CLE and professional expenses.
