Overview
A partner organization is seeking a Transactional Attorney based in India to contribute legal expertise to the development of next-generation AI solutions. This part-time remote contractor role involves applying transactional law experience to improve AI systems that support legal workflows.
Responsibilities
- Conduct simulated contract negotiations and redlining exercises on various commercial agreements.
- Review AI-generated contract-related responses and provide detailed legal feedback to enhance accuracy.
- Develop evaluation criteria, scoring frameworks, and quality standards for AI performance in contract drafting and negotiation.
- Collaborate with product, research, and engineering teams to refine AI training data, legal guidelines, and contract review processes.
- Use legal judgment to identify contractual risks, ambiguities, and negotiation strategies in complex agreements.
- Provide subject matter expertise to improve AI systems for legal research, contract analysis, and transactional workflows.
- Offer insights to help develop reliable, context-aware AI solutions for legal professionals.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 3 years of in-house legal experience focused on technology transactions.
- Extensive experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and redlining commercial agreements such as Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
- Strong understanding of contract risk assessment, negotiation strategies, and commercial legal practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to translate legal expertise into structured, actionable feedback.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in dynamic environments.
- Demonstrated interest in legal innovation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI tools, legal technology platforms, AI training projects, contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems, or enterprise contract solutions.
- Additional experience in corporate law firms, M&A transactions, or private equity fund formation is a plus.
