Overview
A growing Am Law 200 law firm is seeking a Trusts & Estates Associate Attorney to join its expanding practice. This position involves working on sophisticated estate planning, administration, and related litigation matters for individuals, families, and business owners.
Responsibilities
- Draft and implement customized estate plans for individuals, families, and business owners
- Handle wealth preservation, trust and estate administration, and related real estate matters
- Advise clients on premarital and post marital agreements
- Represent beneficiaries, executors, and trustees in estate and trust disputes, including:
- Breach of fiduciary duty claims
- Will contests and validity challenges
- Elective share claims by surviving spouses
- Enforcement of premarital and post marital agreements
- Collaborate with fiduciary litigation team on defense and prosecution of claims
Requirements
- Admission to the Virginia Bar or eligibility for immediate admission
- Preferably 7+ years of experience in trusts & estates planning and/or estate litigation
- Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
- Interest in building a long-term trusts & estates practice
