Overview
A partner organization is seeking a Vice President, Assistant General Counsel, Regulatory and Compliance based in the United States. This senior legal leadership role is responsible for shaping and overseeing a global, risk-based compliance and ethics program within a highly regulated life sciences environment. The position integrates legal strategy, regulatory oversight, and operational execution to ensure compliance across pharmaceutical, medical device, and consumer health activities worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a global compliance and ethics program aligned with healthcare and life sciences regulations.
- Oversee regulatory compliance across pharmaceutical and medical device activities, including marketing, sales, medical affairs, and clinical operations.
- Develop and maintain compliance policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), training programs, and communications to reinforce ethical conduct.
- Conduct enterprise risk assessments, monitoring programs, and audits to identify emerging compliance risks and ensure effective mitigation.
- Advise business and executive leadership on regulatory obligations, product launches, marketing strategies, and global expansion.
- Manage compliance investigations, hotline processes, and corrective action planning in coordination with legal, HR, and business teams.
- Oversee third-party due diligence and international compliance programs, including anti-bribery and anti-corruption controls.
- Monitor evolving regulatory landscapes and enforcement trends to proactively update policies, training, and governance frameworks.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 10–15+ years of legal, regulatory, or compliance experience, including leadership roles in highly regulated healthcare or life sciences environments.
- Deep expertise in FDA regulations, healthcare compliance frameworks, and U.S. fraud and abuse laws (e.g., Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act).
- Strong experience advising on pharmaceutical or medical device commercial operations, including marketing, promotional review, and field activities.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and scale enterprise compliance programs, including policies, training, and monitoring systems.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior executives in a matrixed global organization.
- Strong investigative, analytical, and risk assessment skills with the ability to translate complex regulations into practical business guidance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and executive presence, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aesthetics, global compliance environments, or compliance program transformation is a plus.
