Overview
This role is for experienced employment attorneys with more than seven years of experience to join the Virtual Office as Counsel or Special Counsel. The work focuses on sophisticated employment litigation, with an emphasis on class and representative actions.
The role involves working closely with established class action partners—handling matters directly, supervising others, and developing case strategies while managing cases through all phases of litigation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement case strategy
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive work product
- Manage discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery
- Prepare for and conduct depositions
- Represent clients at hearings, conferences, and trials
- Supervise attorneys and other team members
- Advise clients on employment law matters and workplace policies as needed
- Collaborate with attorneys and teams across the organization
Requirements
- More than seven years of employment litigation experience
- Significant experience defending employers in class and representative actions, particularly wage and hour matters
- Experience handling all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, and trial preparation
- Experience with employment disputes involving discrimination, wrongful termination, restrictive covenants, and other workplace issues
- Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active bar membership in good standing
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- California or Washington bar admission
- Law firm experience
- Experience advising clients on day-to-day employment law matters
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $145,000 – $217,500
- Actual base compensation will be determined based on factors including the selected billable hours target, experience, skills, and qualifications.

Location
This is a mostly remote role. There may be some travel, primarily local, involved with this position.
