Overview
A leading organization in the Consumer Technology sector is seeking a Vice President Deputy General Counsel Corporate. This role focuses on providing business-aligned legal guidance related to governance, compliance, and operational risk management. The position involves partnering with leadership, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex legal issues into practical recommendations that support responsible execution, improved decision-making, and sustainable growth within a technology-driven environment.
Location: Remote (US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available)
Compensation: $322,000 – $418,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee SEC reporting and corporate governance matters
- Implement and evolve the compliance program, including anti-bribery and corruption initiatives
- Advise on employment-related legal strategies and manage internal investigations
- Develop and maintain the enterprise risk management framework
- Operationalize the Office of the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in Europe and serve as Corporate Secretary
- Provide strategic legal counsel on governance, risk, and compliance issues
- Drive operational excellence in managing outside counsel and legal expenditures
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to a state bar (preferably New York)
- 15+ years of legal experience in major law firms and as in-house counsel for global public companies
- Expertise in corporate governance, public company reporting, and enterprise risk compliance
- Experience managing interactions with Boards of Directors and senior executives
- Proven ability to lead and scale global compliance functions
- Strong people management skills with a track record of team development
- Comfort with technology and emerging artificial intelligence tools
