Overview
A leading organization in the Information Technology sector is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join their team remotely (US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available). This role involves significant responsibility in delivering legal outcomes related to cybersecurity products and services, with opportunities for visibility, growth, and impact.
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate complex domestic and international agreements for cybersecurity products and services
- Develop and implement contracting strategies, including templates and negotiation playbooks
- Provide legal counsel to business partners on marketing initiatives and conduct compliance reviews
- Advise on and implement privacy policies while monitoring relevant privacy laws and regulations
- Support best practices in corporate and AI governance
- Communicate legal risks to business partners to mitigate transactional risks
- Conduct legal research as needed
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 7 years practicing as an attorney, preferably with experience at a top law firm or technology company
- Active state bar membership in good standing, eligible for in-house counsel registration in New York
- Significant experience with corporate governance, AI governance, privacy, and government contracting
- Strong drafting skills for a variety of commercial agreements
- Ability to manage multiple legal issues and negotiations simultaneously
- Team-oriented with a high level of integrity and accountability
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)
- Certified Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP)
- Experience with contract management software
- Knowledge of cybersecurity laws and regulations
- Familiarity with privacy compliance tools and AI governance frameworks
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $126,700 – $221,700
