Overview
A consumer protection law firm specializing in representing clients who have been harassed or deceived by creditors and debt collectors is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join their practice in Texas. This remote position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse caseload involving transactional and civil litigation matters related to consumer protection law.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of clients in Texas
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding their legal matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements
- Negotiate and communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims
- Conduct legal research on contract law and other consumer law issues
- Attend court appearances as required (may involve travel)
- Coordinate with the main office via telephone and electronic communication tools
Requirements
- Admission to practice law in Texas is required; admission in multiple states is a plus
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant law firm experience
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High ethical standards and professional integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with senior management and colleagues
- Proficient legal research skills; experience with LexisNexis is a plus
