Associate Attorney, Savannah

Overview

The organization is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to support its consumer protection practice.

This role involves handling consumer protection matters, including transactional and civil litigation. Because the firm’s headquarters are in New York, communication with the main office will occur exclusively via telephone and electronic means (e.g., email and Microsoft Teams).

Eligibility/location requirement: Candidates must be located in or within a commutable distance to Savannah, Georgia to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload for clients in Georgia
• Communicate with clients regarding their respective matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda; review and draft agreements
• Communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims
• Conduct legal research on simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law
• While working from home, travel for required in-court appearances

Requirements

• Must be currently admitted to practice law in Georgia
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
• Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with senior management and employees at all levels
• Strong legal research skills (proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus)
