Overview
Salary Range: $156,400 - $225,000 per year + bonus eligible
Location: Remote Opportunity

Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and human resources on labor and employment matters across the U.S. and internationally
- Provide practical and timely legal advice on employee relations, labor risk, and compliance with employment laws
- Develop, draft, and support corporate employment policies and agreements
- Partner with human resources to prepare and deliver training on employment practices
- Monitor labor and employment law developments, legislation, and regulatory filings, recommending necessary changes
- Provide legal representation and guidance for agency administrative charges, audits, investigations, labor relations matters, grievances, litigation, and other adversarial proceedings
- Manage relationships with outside counsel in a cost-effective manner
- Recommend and deliver actionable KPIs and business metrics to drive meaningful results
- Foster a team environment that supports empowerment, continuous improvement, and innovation
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- Membership in good standing with the Virginia Bar, or membership in another U.S. jurisdiction with eligibility for waiver into Virginia
- Minimum of 5 years of substantial labor and employment law experience counseling clients on HR-related issues
- Strong knowledge of federal employment laws including FLSA, FMLA, and ADA
- Experience working in a heavily unionized environment
- Experience drafting employment policies and delivering employment law training
- Ability to clearly explain complex legal issues to non-lawyers
- Ability to travel up to 20% within the U.S. and Canada, including overnight stays
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and required airport security clearances (e.g., TSA, FAA, Transport Canada)
Preferred Qualifications
- In-house counsel experience
- Knowledge of ERISA and employee benefits
- Experience supporting clients outside the U.S.
- Experience in the food, beverage, or hospitality industry
