Overview
This role involves leading the revenue legal team responsible for managing transactional agreements across public-sector agencies and commercial organizations. The focus is on providing legal guidance while maintaining contracting velocity, developing transactional attorneys, and optimizing the commercial contracting framework.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support a team of transactional attorneys handling customer agreements related to SaaS, software licensing, and professional services.
- Act as the primary legal escalation contact for Sales, Finance, and Customer Success teams to negotiate complex public-sector and commercial transactions.
- Collaborate with Legal Operations to design, update, and implement contract templates, playbooks, negotiation guidance, and self-service business resources.
- Advise cross-functional business partners on transaction structuring, risk mitigation, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Drive operational efficiency in contracting workflows, tools, and enablement resources to accelerate deal execution.

Requirements
- Extensive legal experience leading, negotiating, and drafting complex technology and commercial contracts for both public-sector and private commercial customers.
- Proven experience managing, coaching, and developing a team of transactional attorneys.
- Ability to partner with business teams to structure deals, manage risk, and resolve contract issues under tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining legal concepts to non-legal business partners and customers.
- Active license to practice law and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Prior in-house legal experience supporting a SaaS or technology company is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting salary range: $175,000 to $230,000, determined by experience, education, training, and market factors.
- Equity participation through stock options.
- Additional compensation elements such as sales bonus plans and benefits may apply but are not included in the base salary range.
Location
- Preference for candidates based in Atlanta or Boston due to hub-based roles requiring in-person collaboration.
- Remote roles may be available and will be specified when applicable.
