Overview

This role involves developing and implementing policy and regulatory strategies in the United States, working closely with senior leadership to advance organizational interests.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively shape the U.S. policy and regulatory environment to support company objectives.
  • Evaluate significant developments in U.S. policy and regulation to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Formulate robust and adaptable company positions and strategies.
  • Prepare advocacy materials to communicate positions effectively to regulators, policymakers, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external counsel and consultants to ensure alignment between external advocacy and company positions.
  • Engage with government agencies such as the FCC and NTIA, and other stakeholders to advance interests.
  • Support company positions in preparation for and participation in U.S. delegations to spectrum-related international conferences and meetings (e.g., ITU WRCs, CITEL PCC II) and trade association discussions.
  • Work with internal teams to prepare and prosecute applications for new spectrum access and operating authority.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare analyses for internal and external use.
  • Support litigation and other contested proceedings as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in government and regulatory affairs, with at least 5 years focused on FCC matters preferred.
  • Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent.
  • Strategic thinker with clear and concise advocacy skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to ask clear questions and obtain necessary information from partners, government, and counsel.
  • Initiative and adaptability to changing priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Effective team player with consistent ability to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the technology industry or satellite communications (SATCOM).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $195,000 to $308,500 annually.
  • For specific locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area, and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is $242,500 to $363,500 annually.
  • Compensation considers position scope, background, and experience.
  • Additional cash or stock incentives may be included.
