Overview
MISUMI Americas, a division of MISUMI Group, is a provider of standard, configurable, and custom manufacturing solutions. The organization integrates a vast catalog of components with a digital manufacturing platform to support engineers and procurement teams in accelerating innovation throughout the product lifecycle. Operations are based in the San Francisco Bay Area and Chicago, serving innovative companies across the Americas.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support on general corporate and commercial matters.
- Advise on legal issues related to business practices.
- Review, draft, and assist in negotiating contracts, agreements, corporate policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with regulatory compliance matters.
- Review and update confidentiality agreements.
- Help develop legal training materials.
- Support maintenance of executed agreements and corporate documents.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required; engineering or other technical degrees are a plus.
- Juris Doctorate required.
- Licensed attorney in good standing to practice law in the United States.
- Previous legal experience is a plus but not required.
- Self-starter capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and sound judgment abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual abilities in Spanish or Japanese and/or experience living in Japan or working with Japanese companies.
- Ability to work remotely 100%, with preference for availability to work at least one day per week from facilities located in Schaumburg, IL; Dayton, OH; Fraser, MI; Bellaire, MI; or Queretaro, Mexico.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $63,000 - $68,000 per year, based on experience.
Physical Demands
- Ability to travel up to 5% annually (globally) for meetings and conferences.
Location
- Remote work possible with optional presence at specified facilities in the United States and Mexico.
