Overview

This role involves serving as an Attorney on a contract basis, either full-time or part-time, working remotely. The position focuses on applying litigation expertise to advance legal AI technology by developing legal rubrics and refining AI models through detailed legal research, writing, and discovery management.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement legal rubrics for AI-driven document review and analysis.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft complex memoranda to support AI model training and evaluation.
  • Analyze large volumes of litigation documents to identify key issues, trends, and data points for AI enhancement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert legal insights into actionable AI development requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure the quality and accuracy of AI outputs, providing feedback to improve discovery management and motion practice.
  • Develop case strategies and motion practice templates to inform machine learning models in legal contexts.
  • Continuously update rubric criteria to reflect evolving legal standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree with active bar membership.
  • Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, particularly managing document-intensive cases through discovery and dispositive motions.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, especially in issue spotting and document analysis.
  • Proven expertise in case strategy development and motion practice.
  • Experience managing discovery processes and overseeing complex legal document review projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in remote, digital-first environments with technological proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Law Review or Journal Editorial work, including substantive editing, cite-checking, and publication review of scholarly legal articles.
