Overview
This role involves serving as a key attorney specializing in extraordinary-ability and high-skilled immigration matters, including EB-1A, EB-2 NIW, and O-1A visa categories. The position focuses on client consultations, case assessment, and guiding prospective clients through the appropriate immigration pathways using advanced technology tools to enhance efficiency and quality.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients, assessing case viability and recommending appropriate immigration strategies.
- Build trust quickly with clients and set clear, honest expectations, including diplomatically advising when a case is not a fit.
- Manage a high volume of consultations and represent the firm publicly through live Q&As and client-facing content.
- Ensure smooth transition of engaged clients to case production teams, maintaining client confidence.
- Utilize AI tools and firm technology to support consistent, high-quality case assessments.
- Document consultation notes and recommendations thoroughly to facilitate seamless handoffs.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active U.S. bar admission.
- Strong working knowledge of extraordinary-ability and high-skilled immigration categories (EB-1A, EB-2 NIW, O-1A).
- Demonstrated warmth and sales instinct to quickly build client trust alongside legal expertise.
- Ability to manage a high-volume consult schedule with energy and professionalism.
- Clear and confident communication skills, capable of explaining complex legal concepts in plain language.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with volume expectations.
Experience Levels
- Associate (0–3 years): Confidently run consultations, explain visa paths, assess case fit, and guide clients with mentorship from senior attorneys.
- Mid-Senior Associate (4–7 years): Handle complex and borderline cases, set honest expectations, and manage difficult conversations regarding case viability.
- Senior Associate (8+ years): Provide deep expertise across relevant visa categories, mentor junior attorneys, handle highest-stakes consultations, and contribute to firm strategy on case assessments.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $115,000 to $215,000 USD, reflecting base pay and excluding potential bonuses or equity.
- Compensation is determined by factors including location, experience, education, skills, and role scope.
- Incentives tied to client outcomes and firm performance.
- No billable hour requirements; work is evaluated based on outcomes and client experience.
