Overview

Position: Bankruptcy Attorney (Contractor)

Location: Remote (United States Only)

This role involves applying specialized bankruptcy law expertise to support the development of advanced AI systems. The attorney will review, analyze, and refine AI-generated legal content related to bankruptcy law. Prior experience with AI is not required; legal expertise is the primary qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, review, and annotate bankruptcy-related legal documents, providing expert feedback and detailed commentary.
  • Draft sample motions, pleadings, court filings, and other legal documents covering routine and complex bankruptcy matters.
  • Evaluate hypothetical legal scenarios and deliver well-reasoned legal analyses and written explanations.
  • Review AI-generated legal responses for accuracy, clarity, legal reasoning, and compliance with current U.S. bankruptcy law.
  • Contribute to the creation of high-quality legal datasets and training materials for AI systems.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams through clear written and verbal feedback.
  • Identify legal nuances, emerging developments, and best practices within bankruptcy law to enhance AI performance.

  • Experience drafting motions, pleadings, and court filings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent legal reasoning, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the United States.
  • 3 to 15 years of recent, hands-on bankruptcy law experience.
  • Direct experience with bankruptcy filings, court appearances, and client advisory work.
  • Judicial clerkship experience, especially with a bankruptcy or federal judge, is highly preferred.
  • Experience teaching law, such as adjunct faculty roles, guest lecturing, or creating legal educational content.
  • Editorial experience with a law review or legal journal.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly, accurately, and professionally.
