Overview
A legal services organization specializing in default legal services for mortgage servicers, banks, investors, and financial institutions is seeking a Bankruptcy Paralegal. The role supports attorneys and team members in foreclosure litigation defense, creditor bankruptcy cases, and loss mitigation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare motions, judgments, stipulations, objections, complaints, notices, and orders related to foreclosure and bankruptcy cases.
- Research and retrieve relevant documents from client databases.
- Update case information in various client databases.
- E-file documents with courts.
- Manage calendaring of court hearings and meetings.
- Set up court hearings and meetings.
- Track and prioritize case inventory and impediments to resolution; escalate non-routine matters as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in foreclosure or mortgage-servicing operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated customer service skills including professionalism and responsiveness.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Access; ability to learn additional technology platforms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Adaptability to changing client expectations, internal processes, and industry requirements.
