Overview
A rapidly scaling advanced materials company is seeking a Commercial IP/Generalist Attorney to support its lean legal team during a high-growth phase. This organization operates at startup speed with a diverse and evolving product suite that drives a wide range of commercial agreements.
Responsibilities
- Support negotiation and drafting of NDAs, distribution and formation agreements, university collaborations, evaluation agreements, and other commercial contracts
- Provide practical, business-aligned legal advice focused on protecting core intellectual property without over-complicating deals
- Assist in various legal matters where IP protection is critical
- Communicate clearly and provide actionable guidance to non-legal stakeholders
- Adapt to a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and contribute across multiple areas as needed
Requirements
- Commercially minded attorney with strong intellectual property instincts
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
- Ability to provide clear, practical legal advice aligned with business objectives
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with non-legal teams

Position Details

- Hours: 30-40 hours per week
- Initial duration: 3+ months
- Hourly rate: $105 to $115 (based on qualifications, experience, and project requirements)
