Overview

A Fortune 20 global technology leader is seeking an experienced eDiscovery Counsel for a long-term, fully remote secondment. This 6-month contract role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of legal and technological innovation, collaborating directly with attorneys involved in AI-driven eDiscovery products, regulatory strategy, and litigation related to emerging areas such as generative AI, social media, and complex data ecosystems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain expertise in U.S. and global legal and regulatory obligations related to litigation, discovery, and information governance
  • Apply legal, eDiscovery, and information governance knowledge when partnering with in-house and outside counsel on active litigation, regulatory, and investigation matters
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and execution of eDiscovery and information governance templates, policies, strategies, and workflows
  • Identify, analyze, and address complex issues, communicating findings clearly in cross-functional settings
  • Collaborate with eDiscovery and Information Governance teams, case and policy teams, business partners, outside counsel, and vendors
  • Learn and understand complex, cutting-edge technology and data concepts, discuss these effectively with technical experts, and apply this knowledge to discovery and legal strategies

Minimum Qualifications

  • J.D. (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. State Bar
  • Significant legal experience at a law firm, government agency, or in-house corporation focusing on litigation, information governance, and regulatory matters
  • Experience building partnerships and coordinating with diverse audiences including legal, technical, and policy teams
  • Ability to learn and understand complex technology and data concepts and apply them to discovery and legal strategies
  • Experience with eDiscovery and information governance technology and tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and legal knowledge to address complex issues and develop practical solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in-house at a technology company
  • Experience developing and validating technology-assisted review (TAR) programs
  • Exceptional presentation, organizational, and project management skills
  • Ability to manage a fast-paced workload while maintaining priorities and anticipating issues
