Overview

This role supports building out the organization’s legal function by owning the day-to-day contract lifecycle across the firm. Responsibilities include handling NDAs, Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, settlement agreements, and other transactional documents that support the General Counsel.

This is a hands-on operational role with ownership of a high-volume contract process. It does not require a law degree or bar admission, but it does require strong judgment, precision, and the ability to work independently against an established playbook.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate routine NDAs (mutual and one-way) using established playbook positions; escalate deviations to the General Counsel.
  • Draft and manage client Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Statements of Work (SOWs), including producing redlines against the organization’s standard paper.
  • Support drafting and tracking of settlement agreements and other transactional documents as needed.
  • Track contract status, renewal dates, and key obligations across the active client and vendor portfolio.
  • Own and administer the contract lifecycle management platform (Juro), including:
    • Intake
    • Workflow routing
    • E-signature coordination
    • Recordkeeping
  • Maintain and improve contract templates and the playbook/negotiation guidelines used across the team.
  • Coordinate with Finance, People, and Consulting leads on contract terms that touch their areas (pricing, staffing, data handling, etc.).
  • Provide administrative and organizational support on M&A due diligence and equity award recordkeeping as needed.
  • Flag legal or business risk issues to the General Counsel promptly rather than resolving independently.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in contract management, paralegal work, or a similar commercial contracts role; ideally in professional services, consulting, or life sciences.
  • Strong working knowledge of NDA, MSA, and SOW structures and common negotiation points.
  • Comfortable working independently against a playbook, with sound judgment about when to escalate.
  • Experience with a CLM tool (Juro experience a plus, but not required).
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail; high-volume document work with costly mistakes.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certificate a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior in-house experience at a consulting firm, CRO, or similar services business.
  • Some exposure to M&A process or basic corporate/entity maintenance work.
  • Experience working with a small or newly built legal function; comfortable with ambiguity and building process rather than only following it.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $100,000 - $130,000 annual base salary plus generous incentive compensation structure.
  • 401k with generous employer match and immediate vesting; includes financial planning resources.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage options effective day 1 of employment.
  • Flexible spending account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA).
  • Company-paid insurances including Short- and Long-Term Disability and Life insurance, plus additional voluntary options.
  • Paid parental leave for all new parents.
  • Health & Wellness Benefit (e.g., gym memberships; $1000 reimbursement annually).
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Generous paid time off including vacation, sick days, floating, and company holidays.

Equal Opportunity

The organization is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against otherwise qualified applicants on the basis of race, color, religion, ancestry, age (40 and over), sex (including gender identity, sexual orientation and pregnancy), national origin, disability, marital status, parental status, genetic information, political affiliation, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
