Overview
A leading payments credit union service organization and integrated fintech solutions provider is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join their legal team. This role involves providing legal support across a variety of commercial contracts, strategic partnerships, corporate governance, and compliance matters within the financial services and technology sectors.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts including vendor agreements, service contracts, NDAs, and strategic partnership agreements.
- Advise internal stakeholders on contract interpretation, legal risks, and business implications.
- Lead negotiations and provide counsel on network membership agreements and corporate investment transactions.
- Collaborate with product teams and cross-functional stakeholders to provide legal guidance throughout the product development lifecycle, including regulatory considerations and go-to-market strategies.
- Provide advice on corporate insurance matters such as coverage evaluation, policy review, and claims.
- Support corporate governance activities including entity management, registration, and internal policy development.
- Advise on information security and privacy compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
- Assist senior counsel with legal research and commercial dispute matters.
- Act as a trusted legal partner to teams including Procurement, Finance, Technology, Product, and Operations.
- Manage travel and adapt to disruptive work schedules, deadlines, and unpredictable events as needed.
- Perform additional duties to support the Legal department and broader business objectives.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school and undergraduate degree.
- Admission to a state bar with active membership in good standing.
- Minimum of five years’ experience as an attorney drafting and negotiating a wide range of contracts.
- Strong ability to identify legal and business issues and risks quickly and accurately.
- Familiarity with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, National Credit Union Administration regulations, and data privacy laws preferred.
- Experience with contract disputes, dispute resolution, or litigation is preferred.
- Prior experience in a corporate legal environment preferred.
- Experience in the technology or financial services sectors preferred.

- Salary range: $110,100.00 - $143,100.00, adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors.
