Overview
A healthcare organization specializing in value-based care for senior living communities and skilled nursing facilities is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to join their Legal team. The organization provides a range of solutions including on-site primary care services, Accountable Care Organizations, and Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plans, serving over 200,000 seniors across more than 1,500 communities in 32 states.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions to the corporate development team.
- Support enterprise shared services with legal guidance on corporate governance, privacy, employment, intellectual property, and related matters.
- Draft and negotiate vendor, IT, employment, and other agreements; assist the procurement team with legal support.
- Assist the Chief Privacy Officer with privacy-related legal issues as needed.
- Monitor and analyze legislation and regulations impacting services and operations; provide timely summaries and analysis to leadership.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with business clients, legal, and compliance partners.
Requirements
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
Experience
- 2 to 5 years of experience in corporate, healthcare, and/or privacy-focused legal practice, either in-house or as outside counsel.
- Preferably substantial experience advising healthcare companies, including providers, health plans, management services organizations, or other healthcare-related entities.
Licensure
- Admission to at least one state bar and in good standing.
