Overview

This role involves providing strategic legal guidance on gaming regulations to support the growth and integrity of regulated gaming products. The Corporate Counsel will work within the Gaming and Regulatory Group, advising on complex regulatory matters and shaping product operations in licensed markets. The position requires balancing legal risk with business opportunities and collaborating with various teams to navigate an evolving regulatory landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business teams to assess and navigate legal and regulatory issues affecting licensed and regulated product offerings.
  • Support Compliance, Product, and other teams by interpreting regulatory, licensing, and enforcement requirements.
  • Engage with regulators to anticipate, manage, and resolve issues related to regulatory applications to products and operations.
  • Evaluate products, features, and processes to ensure ongoing compliance with applicable laws and regulatory obligations.
  • Advise on legal and regulatory considerations related to customer-facing communications and disclosures.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across the legal team to align on cross-functional legal strategies and guidance.
  • Manage and oversee outside counsel to support specialized regulatory and legal matters when needed.

Requirements

  • At least four years of relevant legal experience at a law firm, in-house legal department, or state or federal regulatory or enforcement agency.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Experience reviewing, interpreting, and applying statutes, regulations, and regulatory guidance in a practical business context.

Compensation & Benefits

  • US base salary range: $160,800 to $201,000 annually.
  • Additional compensation includes bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable.
  • Salary range is determined by role, level, and location; individual pay is influenced by work location, skills, experience, and education.

Location & Licensing

  • The organization is headquartered in Boston.
  • As a regulated gaming company, employment may require obtaining a gaming license issued by the appropriate state agency; guidance will be provided if applicable.
