Overview
This Paralegal Specialist role provides paralegal support for a specific practice area under limited attorney supervision. The position supports the Business Law practice and serves as a subject matter expert for contract workflows and processes, contract templates and drafting, legal research, and contract signing processes. The role also proactively identifies, summarizes, and monitors relevant issues, and supports legal intake and contract preparation.
Responsibilities
- Manage intake of new matters, including reviewing commercial contract deal sheets, entering new matter data, and completing contract templates based on commercial parameters provided
- Review and explain various aspects of forms to in-house clients
- Conduct, summarize, and analyze research by gathering facts and researching and analyzing applicable laws, regulations, and case law as necessary
- Serve as a subject matter expert during legal research and transactions while demonstrating competence with online legal research tools and transactional logistics
- Independently determine if additional research is needed
- Maintain corporate records and archives in accordance with records retention requirements
- Proactively identify and summarize relevant issues, continually monitor them, and update the attorney with recommendations as appropriate
- Review new and proposed legislation and determine applicability
- Gather matter-related documents for the attorney to analyze
Education
- Applicants must meet the regulatory and qualification standards applicable to the paralegal profession in the state where work is performed; OR an equivalent combination of education and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant paralegal experience.
Minimum Requirements & Experience
- 4+ years of paralegal experience with a corporate legal environment
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a high volume, fast-paced legal environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of corporate and/or compliance processes
- Demonstrated expertise utilizing Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
- Extensive experience leveraging Microsoft 365 to support collaboration, communication, and workflow efficiency
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 productivity and collaboration tools

Work Environment / Location & Travel Expectations
- Primarily remote
- Minimal travel may be required based on business needs, training sessions, or team events, within Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Charlotte, NC; OR Scottsdale, AZ
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation offered: $28.03 - $42.99 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
