Overview

A legal team is seeking a Commercial Counsel with expertise in negotiating complex real estate, workplace services, and commercial transactions. This role involves managing relationships with cross-functional partners including Real Estate/Workplace, Engineering Services, Outsourced Services, and Benefits teams.

Responsibilities

  • Independently negotiate a high volume of complex agreements related to real estate, workplace services, benefits vendors, SaaS, and other commercial transactions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide legal counsel on data security, data privacy, AI, and general commercial risks associated with transactions.
  • Deliver practical, business-focused legal advice that ensures a seamless and efficient experience for internal clients.
  • Manage outside counsel and contract attorneys.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners, attorneys, and contract managers to develop scalable global processes and systems.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree with at least 4 years of experience negotiating complex real estate and commercial transactions.
  • Preferably at least 1 year of in-house legal experience.
  • Experience negotiating workplace, outsourced services, and engineering service agreements.
  • Comfort handling SaaS agreements and addressing data privacy, data security, and general commercial legal concerns.
  • Strong communication skills, especially the ability to clarify legal jargon and contract structures.
  • Collaborative team player with strong relationship-building skills across organizations.
  • Proactive problem solver who anticipates needs and offers solutions in partnership with business teams.

Location and Work Model

  • This position requires in-person collaboration 1-2 times every 6 months and can be based anywhere in the United States.
  • The role is not eligible for relocation assistance.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: $132,415 to $272,619 USD annually.
  • Position is eligible for equity compensation.
  • Final salary is determined based on factors such as location, experience, skills, and expertise.
