Overview

A leading organization in the Energy & Utilities sector is seeking a Counsel to join their legal team. This role involves delivering strategic legal outcomes for customers and stakeholders, collaborating across departments, and managing key priorities. Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic, risk-balanced legal advice on complex contracts
  • Design and improve contract forms, templates, and related processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate commercial agreement execution
  • Lead end-to-end negotiations for high-stakes agreements
  • Develop training materials to enhance the organization's legal knowledge

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to practice law in the U.S.
  • Minimum of 5 years of transactional legal experience in a global law firm or in-house legal department
  • Expertise in contract drafting and negotiation
  • Experience with contract management systems
  • Ability to effectively engage and communicate with senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with complex capital purchase and financed commercial transactions
  • Familiarity with operation and maintenance agreements
  • Knowledge of legal technology stacks and transactional legal software (e.g., Clio, ContractWorks)
  • Proficiency with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and Slack
  • Experience using data analytics tools for contract analysis (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Skills in developing training materials

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary range: $191,000 – $225,000
