Overview
This role involves serving on a Strategic Response Legal team that acts as legal "First Responders" for complex, high-stakes, and time-sensitive issues in the cryptoeconomy. The position requires managing crises, leading urgent internal investigations, and providing decisive legal counsel to protect the organization's reputation and operational integrity. The team also collaborates with Global Intelligence and law enforcement to prevent and address criminal activity.
Responsibilities
- Lead legal responses for high-intensity, high-priority projects requiring coordination across Legal, Compliance, Product, and Communications teams.
- Conduct comprehensive internal investigations into sensitive matters, including data analysis, stakeholder interviews, and reconstructing event sequences.
- Synthesize technical and legal information from multiple stakeholders to inform critical decisions.
- Communicate concise updates and strategic recommendations to company leadership.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney in a law firm, company, or regulatory/government agency.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects in fast-paced environments.
- Proven experience leading internal investigations.
- Experience interfacing with government regulators, agencies, or law enforcement.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate at all organizational levels, balancing diverse perspectives.
- Flexibility, multitasking ability, attention to detail, and comfort with high-intensity work.
- Exceptional organizational and legal writing skills.
- Strong judgment and analytical rigor.
- Active and in good standing with a State Bar in the United States.

- Enthusiasm for and basic understanding of digital currencies and blockchain technology.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $183,855 USD - $216,300 USD annually.
- Additional compensation includes bonus eligibility, equity, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
Location & Work Environment
- The role is remote-first but not remote-only; in-person participation is required throughout the year.
- Attendance at multiple team and company-wide offsites annually is expected and supported.
