Overview
A fast-growing pet food company is seeking an Attorney with 8+ years of experience for a 4–6 month full-time remote engagement starting as soon as possible. The role involves supporting the legal team on disputes, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional risk management.
Responsibilities
- Manage disputes and litigation by acting as a key legal partner on pre-litigation disputes, active matters, and arbitrations.
- Coordinate with outside counsel and help shape legal strategy through resolution.
- Support the development and implementation of compliance initiatives, policies, and internal processes aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Mitigate legal and operational risk to protect the brand.
- Provide practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders across the organization.
- Help teams navigate evolving regulatory requirements and business risks while maintaining efficient legal workflows.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience advising on litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters.
- Experience providing regulatory compliance guidance to internal business stakeholders.
- Proven ability to oversee disputes including pre-litigation matters, active cases, and arbitrations.
- Experience working effectively with outside counsel.
- Ability to develop and implement compliance strategies, policies, and internal processes.
- Strong cross-functional partnership skills to address legal and regulatory risk.
- Must be able to work full-time.
- Employment will be through an Employer of Record (EOR) for the duration of the engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at an Am Law 100 law firm and/or prior in-house legal experience.
- Experience advising companies in consumer packaged goods (CPG), food and beverage, or regulated consumer products.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks involving the U.S. Department of Agriculture and/or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate: $100 – $120, flexible based on experience.
