Overview
A legal team is seeking a Document Review Lawyer with claims review experience to support Fortune 500 clients. This is a remote position based in the Greater Toronto area. Candidates must be fully professionally fluent in French, with strong written and spoken communication skills in both French and English.
Responsibilities
- Review and validate claims for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant policies, contracts, and legal standards
- Analyze complex and legacy claims, including historical files that may be incomplete or technically challenging
- Conduct detailed bilingual document review in French and English, ensuring consistency and accuracy
- Perform discovery-related tasks such as document review, issue spotting, and organizing materials for legal proceedings
- Execute privilege review to identify and categorize protected or confidential documents appropriately
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in claims, investigations, or employment law
- Strong communication and writing skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
- High attention to detail, especially in document-heavy review work
- Ability to handle sensitive subject matters with discretion
- Background in legal review or claims processing
- Experience with document review preferred
- Bilingual fluency in French and English is required
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated total compensation: $125,000 - $130,000
- Compensation is based on factors including experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs
