Overview
A leading organization in the Finance & Insurance sector is seeking an Employment Counsel to join their team. This role involves delivering legal outcomes for customers and stakeholders, collaborating cross-functionally, and taking ownership of key priorities. Location: Remote (U.S. based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)
Compensation: $120,000 – $180,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Advise the People team on employment-related matters including recruiting and performance management
- Review and update employment policies to ensure compliance and alignment with best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support employment compliance
- Assist stakeholders with strategic global projects related to employment law
Requirements
- 5-10 years of employment law experience, gained at a top law firm and/or in-house legal team, preferably with counseling experience
- Ability to balance legal risks with business needs effectively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities to handle diverse tasks
- Proven work ethic with a commitment to delivering results
- Collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment
- Ability to maintain discretion while managing multiple stakeholder interests
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HR compliance software such as BambooHR or Workday for managing employee data
- Familiarity with project management tools like Asana or Trello to support team collaboration
- Understanding of data privacy regulations such as GDPR or CCPA related to employee data privacy and legal compliance
