Overview

A growing energy storage company is seeking a Senior Energy Attorney to support a small, cross-functional projects team focused on utility-scale project development. The role will initially concentrate on project acquisitions and will expand to cover broader responsibilities across the project lifecycle, including permitting, land use, real estate, and regulatory matters as projects advance.

Responsibilities

  • Support project acquisitions and development activities
  • Manage legal workstreams related to permitting, land use, real estate, and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and project teams
  • Operate as a generalist across the project lifecycle, supporting project finance, development, and regulatory workstreams
  • Independently drive legal tasks in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Strong project finance background within the energy or infrastructure sectors
  • Experience working across multiple aspects of project development, including land use and regulatory matters
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and manage legal responsibilities independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates local to the Denver/Boulder, CO area or San Francisco Bay Area are preferred but not required

Compensation & Duration

  • Hourly rate: $120 to $130, commensurate with qualifications, skillset, and experience
  • Estimated duration: 2-3 months, 40 hours per week
  • Potential for extension at reduced hours
  • Remote work option available

Remote, with preference for candidates near Denver/Boulder, CO or San Francisco Bay Area
