Overview
Remote, full-time Associate Attorney position for a small trademark law firm with offices in New York City and Phoenix. This role is nationwide and fully remote, and the associate may live anywhere in the United States.
This is an entry-level/junior opportunity (0–2 years of experience preferred) focused primarily on federal trademark clearance search and filing work.
Responsibilities
- Conduct federal trademark clearance searches
- Prepare and file trademark applications
- Handle work related to office actions, renewals, and early stages of oppositions and cancellations
- Work will be reviewed closely during the first few months; after training, you will be given substantial work early on
- Communicate primarily via email; there are almost no external meetings and few phone calls
Requirements
- Bar license in any U.S. state/territory, or be no more than a month away from being sworn in with a scheduled swearing-in date
- Strong everyday writing skills and attention to detail
- Ability to complete a short, informal writing assignment before an offer is extended (compensated)
- Bluebook-style writing skills are not required
Preferred Qualifications
- Trademark experience or demonstrated interest in intellectual property law
- Proficiency or fluency in Spanish (not required)
- Fluency in any other widely spoken language (plus)
- Affinity for computers and technology
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $75,000 to $90,000 depending on relevant experience
