Overview

A nationally recognized CPA and advisory firm with over 30 U.S. offices and a global presence is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney to join their Legal team. This role involves providing expert estate planning counsel to clients, developing tailored legacy planning solutions, and managing complex estate matters with professionalism and empathy.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on estate planning including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, medical powers of attorney, and tax strategies.
  • Draft, review, and revise estate planning documents customized to client needs.
  • Conduct client consultations to assess goals, assets, and family dynamics, offering clear guidance and recommendations.
  • Manage complex estates involving business interests, charitable giving, and multi-generational planning.
  • Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to create integrated estate plans.
  • Stay current on federal and state laws affecting estate planning, probate, and tax matters.
  • Represent clients in probate court and in the administration of trusts and estates as necessary.
  • Build and maintain trust with clients through clear communication, confidentiality, and responsive service.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the relevant state or willingness to waive into jurisdictions as needed.
  • Minimum of five years of dedicated estate planning experience with direct client interaction.
  • Proven expertise in drafting and implementing estate planning documents.
  • Strong knowledge of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and empathy.
  • Proficiency with legal research and practice management software.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients and complex estate structures.
  • Background in probate litigation or trust administration.
  • Ability to deliver presentations and educational seminars to clients and community groups.
  • Experience collaborating with accountants and financial planners to provide coordinated client solutions.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $150,000 - $175,000 annually (actual salary may vary within or outside this range based on circumstances).
