Florida Senior Title Examiner (Remote)

Overview

The organization is seeking experienced Florida Title Examiners to join the team. This position is remote and can be performed from anywhere in the United States, but Florida title examination experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Examine chain of title primarily for residential properties; may expand into commercial and/or industrial properties
• Perform title examination of complex title orders requiring a high level of title expertise
• Abstract and analyze records such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books to:
  • Determine ownership and legal restrictions
  • Verify legal description of property
  • Ensure completeness of records
• Copy or summarize recorded documents that affect the condition of title to the property
• Write title products based on interpretation and application of procedural guidelines
• Provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines
• In some cases, gather information and create a commitment of title before passing to a Title Officer
• Act as a resource and provide input and knowledge; actively mentor less experienced team members
• Work on varied and complex assignments requiring breadth and depth of experience
• May have customer contact
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of title examination experience with demonstrated mastery of resources, skills, and knowledge
• Florida Title Examination experience
• Multiple state licenses (as required by state) in order to do business in a broad geographic area
• Strong detail and quality orientation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Customer service orientation
• Strong MS skill set
• Knowledge of legal terms used in title documents
• Ability to read and decipher legal descriptions relating to title orders
• Strong knowledge of industry and company operating systems, tools, and applications

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $26.88 - $35.82 Hourly (Remote)
