Freelance Attorney: Ask a Lawyer

Overview

This role involves expanding a network of legal professionals nationwide to provide legal information to individuals and small to midsize businesses. It is a remote, independent contractor position where you will connect with customers through a technology platform that matches qualified Legal Pros with clients seeking legal assistance. The organization handles customer acquisition and administrative tasks, allowing you to focus on delivering legal guidance.

Responsibilities

• Work remotely with customers assigned directly to you, scheduling consultations at mutually convenient times.
• Provide legal information through brief written responses using an online "Ask a Legal Pro" service.
• Conduct scheduled 20-minute live consultations with customers via phone.
• Maintain a customer-first approach, ensuring high satisfaction and successful resolution of legal inquiries.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of practical experience advising individuals and businesses in your legal specialty.
• Active license in at least one U.S. state, in good standing with the state bar, with no prior public disciplinary actions.
• Proficiency with technology and ability to quickly learn and utilize the platform's tools.
• Strong verbal communication skills for effective phone or video consultations.
