Overview

An organization is seeking an attorney with significant experience in real estate finance and private lending transactions to serve as General Counsel on a part-time contract basis. The role supports a Nevada-based residential and commercial mortgage company. Expertise with Nevada transactions governed under Nevada Revised Statutes 645B is required.

Responsibilities

  • Structure, draft, negotiate, and review a wide variety of sophisticated real estate financing transactions
  • Handle and oversee foreclosure proceedings, loan servicing, payoff administration
  • Ensure compliance with loan origination documentation

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Nevada mortgage transactions in a law firm or in-house setting
  • Licensed and in good standing in any U.S. state
  • Expertise with Nevada transactions governed under Nevada Revised Statutes 645B
  • Excellent academic credentials from a U.S. accredited law school
  • Outstanding professional references

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annualized pay range for full-time equivalent: $180,000 to $230,000
  • Contract pay rates depend on experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market factors, and candidate preference
