Overview
A busy and growing insurance defense firm located in Orange County is seeking an Associate Attorney specializing in Insurance Defense Litigation. This role offers the opportunity to handle challenging and varied casework with significant responsibility from the start, within a collaborative team environment.
The position is hybrid, based in the Santa Ana, CA office, requiring 2-3 days in-office per week. Candidates must be admitted to the California Bar. Applications from candidates outside California will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Manage an individual caseload with support from partners
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
- Take and defend depositions
- Appear in court for hearings and motions
- Collaborate directly with clients to develop case strategies and advance matters
Requirements
- 3 to 10+ years of civil litigation experience
- Trial experience is strongly preferred
- Admission to the California Bar is required
- Background in insurance defense litigation
- Proven skills in depositions, motions, and courtroom proceedings
- Strong writing and communication abilities with strategic thinking
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Workload
- Annual billable hour requirement of 1850 hours (~155 hours per month)
