General Liability Trial Attorney

Overview

The organization is seeking a General Liability Trial Attorney for a remote role working anywhere in the Northern California area.

This position involves handling significant, complex General Liability matters with flexibility, support, and stability.

Responsibilities

• Handle all phases of litigation, from initial evaluation through resolution
• Partner with claims professionals to develop case strategy
• Conduct discovery
• Negotiate settlements
• Appear at hearings and advocate for clients throughout the litigation process
• For senior-level attorneys: mentor colleagues and serve as a technical resource on complex matters

Requirements (Basic Qualifications)

• Juris Doctor
• 5 or more years of litigation experience
• Member in good standing of the California State Bar
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe
• Experience using Lexis, Westlaw, or similar legal research platforms
• Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims environment, insurance defense litigation, and legal procedure

Preferred Qualifications

• GL trial experience
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage a caseload independently
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment
• Trial, hearing, mediation, and settlement experience
• For Senior Trial Attorney candidates: experience handling moderate to high-complexity matters, mentoring attorneys, and serving as a subject matter resource

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay is based on role, location, skills, and experience and follows local laws to ensure fair compensation
• Bonuses and merit increases may be available
• Short-term incentive bonus eligibility: 10%
• Proposed salary range for the Trial Attorney: $155,000.00 - $180,000.00
• Pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location
