Overview
A rapidly growing manufacturing company serving the aerospace and defense industry is seeking a Government Contracts Compliance & Risk Manager. This role involves leading government contracts compliance initiatives, partnering with executive leadership to build practical compliance programs, strengthen internal controls, and improve organizational processes. The position reports directly to the General Counsel and Compliance Officer and offers the opportunity to formalize and centralize compliance and risk management programs across U.S. and Canadian operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives related to government contracts compliance, export controls, internal governance, compliance training, and enterprise risk management
- Advise executive leadership on legal, regulatory, and risk management matters
- Develop, implement, and support compliance programs, policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, operations, procurement, human resources, finance, and IT
- Support continuous process improvement and leverage AI-enabled legal operations and compliance systems
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in legal, compliance, risk management, government contracts, or related roles within aerospace, defense, manufacturing, industrial, or other highly regulated sectors
- Experience with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, EAR, export controls, or related government contracting regulatory frameworks
- Proven experience developing or supporting compliance programs, governance initiatives, employee training, and internal controls
- Ability to advise business leaders on compliance, legal, operational, or enterprise risk matters
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated interest in technology and process improvement, including AI-enabled legal technology and contract lifecycle management tools
- Bachelor’s degree required; J.D. or other advanced degree preferred but not required

Position Details
- Role Type: Permanent In-House Counsel
- Schedule: Full-Time
- Location: Fully remote (work from home). Candidates near company operating facilities may work on-site if desired; regular office attendance is not required
- Travel: Limited, generally once or twice annually
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $75,000 to $150,000
