Overview

An independent contract opportunity is available to lead a globally distributed legal outsourcing team focused on contract drafting and review. This role reports to the Head of Corporate/M&A Practice and operates fully remotely with working hours aligned to Eastern Standard Time (EST).

The organization is a full-service law firm specializing in complex corporate, litigation, executive compensation, and private wealth matters. The outsourcing function supports private equity and equity-focused clients by drafting and reviewing non-disclosure agreements at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of approximately fourteen lawyers and paralegals distributed globally.
  • Implement structured people management practices including regular one-on-one meetings, feedback, professional development, and strategic alignment.
  • Redesign the drafting and review workflow for non-disclosure agreements by embedding artificial intelligence to increase throughput and focus expertise on higher-value work.
  • Define and implement the operating model for the AI-driven workflow transformation.
  • Identify, scope, and launch additional contract review and drafting services to expand the service offering beyond non-disclosure agreements.
  • Own service delivery metrics such as turnaround times, quality standards, and client-facing outcomes.
  • Partner directly with senior leadership including the Managing Partner, Head of Firm Management, and revenue-generating partners.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten years' experience in legal practice, legal operations, or corporate and commercial legal services with substantive contract work expertise.
  • Direct experience with non-disclosure agreements and United States commercial contracts, preferably within private equity or financial services.
  • Availability to work aligned with US Eastern business hours.
  • Proven track record of building or transforming a function from manual processes into a structured, metrics-driven operation, with clear personal contributions.
  • Demonstrable fluency in artificial intelligence, including designing and deploying AI-enabled workflows (not just operating existing tools).
  • Experience leading distributed teams with a commitment to structured people management and professional development.
