Overview
The organization is seeking a Staff Attorney to join its Immigration Practice. This is a full-time, remote position for attorneys interested in a long-term practice focused primarily on client service and legal work. Advancement opportunities and compensation structures differ from traditional partnership-track attorney roles.
Responsibilities
- Participate in initial case strategy discussions
- Assess eligibility for non-immigrant and immigrant visa classifications
- Prepare various petitions and applications
- Provide sophisticated counsel and advice to clients on employment-and some family-based immigration matters
- Research complex immigration issues
- Assist with immigration alerts
- Advise on compliance audits and government investigations
- Support preparation of immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions
- Conduct corporate training
Requirements
- 3–6 years of experience in employment-based immigration matters, including (but not limited to):
- H-1B
- E-1/E-2
- Blanket L
- L-1A/L-1B
- TN
- PERM
- Employment-based green card matters
- Some experience with family-based immigration is preferred
- Knowledge of INSZoom is strongly preferred
- Outstanding interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to supervise and direct paralegals and legal assistants
- Must be licensed and physically located in MI, IL, OH, or D.C. (office locations)
