Overview

Full-time intake attorney role within the firm’s Immigration practice. This position serves as the first point of contact for prospective clients and focuses on evaluating case viability and ensuring compliant, high-quality intake processes. The attorney will not have a case load.

Work Setup

  • Hybrid or Remote role (PST)
  • Firm HQ: LA
  • Full-time, Exempt
  • 40 hours per week
  • Weekdays schedule with flexibility for weekends

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Business Development team’s legal strategy to ensure intake information and retainer agreements follow firm protocols.
  • Conduct strategic legal consultations and case evaluations in person, via virtual platforms, or by phone.
  • Advise on immigration options, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review consultations, intake forms, and supporting documents to assess case viability.
  • Assess eligibility and recommend appropriate legal pathways.
  • Communicate case details and recommendations to Case Consultants.
  • Explain complex immigration concepts and viable legal strategies clearly.
  • Review immigration filings and application packets for accuracy and legal sufficiency.
  • Develop case strategy and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS interviews.
  • Conduct legal research and case analysis to identify benefits, relief options, and risks.
  • Draft, review, and submit legal briefs on immigration matters.
  • Partner with the training team to enhance legal and provide subject matter training content.
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve processes, client experience, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor and active bar license in good standing.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
  • 3 to 5 years of Immigration Law experience, including litigation.
  • Experience with Family Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR removal defense, Citizenship, and USCIS applications.
  • Prior criminal law experience is a plus.
  • Skilled at conducting legal consultations, intake reviews, or case evaluations.
  • Strong legal analysis, issue-spotting, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM and case management software (CLIO) and virtual communication tools.
  • Strong client focus and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a KPI-driven environment.
  • Proven ability to contribute to revenue growth.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $85,000 - $125,000 (DOE)
