Employment Attorney — Los Angeles, CA (Remote)

This role involves advising and representing employers and/or employees across a broad range of employment-law matters. Responsibilities cover wage and hour disputes, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, workplace accommodations, employment contracts, and other California employment-law issues.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on federal, California, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Represent clients in employment litigation, administrative proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Draft and review employment agreements, separation agreements, employee handbooks, policies, and other employment-related documents.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
  • Handle depositions, hearings, settlement conferences, and trial preparation.
  • Investigate workplace complaints involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage violations, and wrongful termination.
  • Counsel clients regarding hiring, termination, leave, accommodations, discipline, workplace policies, and employee relations.
  • Monitor changes in California and federal employment law and advise clients regarding compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage caseloads, deadlines, budgets, and client relationships.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active California State Bar license and good standing.
  • Experience practicing employment law, preferably in California.
  • Strong knowledge of California employment laws, including wage-and-hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, leave, and wrongful termination laws.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong organizational and case-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently.
