Overview

A legal team is seeking a highly experienced Law & Motions Attorney to support a high-volume personal injury litigation practice. This role focuses exclusively on complex motion practice, dispositive motions, writ work, and appellate matters. The attorney will collaborate closely with litigation and trial teams to shape legal strategy throughout all stages of a case.

Location

  • Primarily on-site near Irving, TX preferred
  • Exceptional candidates with extensive experience may be considered for remote work, with required availability for court appearances and travel

Responsibilities

  • Draft, research, and argue complex motions in personal injury cases, including:
    • Motions for Summary Judgment
    • Motions to Strike or Exclude Experts
    • Motions to Compel and other discovery-related motions
    • Motions in Limine
    • Responses and replies to opposing motions
  • Support trial teams with:
    • Jury charge issues
    • Preservation of error
    • Trial strategy and appellate issue spotting
  • Handle post-trial motions such as:
    • Motions for New Trial
    • Judgments Notwithstanding the Verdict (JNOVs)
    • Remittiturs
  • Draft and argue interlocutory and appellate briefs in Texas state and federal courts
  • Collaborate with litigation teams on appellate strategy and high-stakes legal issues

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience practicing law in Law and Motions/Appellate (personal injury) or closely related fields
  • Extensive experience managing complex motion practice and appellate matters
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
    • Texas Rules of Evidence
    • Texas appellate practice
  • Active license to practice law in Texas
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
