Overview
A well-established insurance defense law firm is seeking an experienced Lead Insurance Defense Counsel to manage a full caseload of civil litigation matters. This full-time position is primarily remote, based in Pennsylvania, with court appearances required.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee a full caseload of insurance defense matters from intake through resolution
- Handle all aspects of litigation including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation
- Appear in court as required
- Collaborate with an assigned paralegal to ensure effective case management and administrative support
- Maintain accurate and timely case documentation
- Meet deadlines while managing multiple active matters
- Perform work in accordance with firm standards and client expectations
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Pennsylvania (required)
- New Jersey bar admission preferred but not required
- Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience, specifically in insurance defense
- Experience with hourly billing preferred
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
